2waytraffic and Endemol sign multiple territory deal for Ba Ba Boom
2waytraffic International and Endemol International have signed a multiple territory deal for Ba Ba Boom, 2waytraffic’s new questionless game show format.
Following the format’s launch at MipTV last month, the deal will grant Endemol the right to produce the format in over 20 key territories, including the US, the UK, Australia, France, India, Italy, Russia and the Middle East.
Developed in-house by 2waytraffic, Ba Ba Boomis a simple and addictive game show which uses no questions and no software, just 10 models and 20 hands. The panel of models stand behind the Ba Ba Boom table with their hands placed flat on its surface. Under 17 of their hands, there’s nothing, but under three, there’s a coin. The models bang their hands three times - twice making fists and the third time flat - on the table in unison. Both the contestants and the viewers at home are able to hear the clinking sound of the coins on the table surface, and to win the €100,000 prize money, the contestants must simply eliminate all the hands that do not contain a coin. Reveal a hand that has a coin though and the contestant is eliminated. As well as models, the Ba Ba Boom panel can be comprised of different groups, such as local sports teams, to suit the slot and broadcaster’s profile.
Lisette van Diepen, Head of Acquisitions, Endemol International, said:
“Ba Ba Boom is a clever, compelling and entertaining format. It creates a great deal of excitement and fun from a very simple proposition, which will translate brilliantly across multiple territories.”
Ed Louwerse, Managing Director of 2waytraffic International, added:
“Endemol have a huge amount of experience and expertise in producing world class game shows such as Deal Or No Deal and Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?. They are the ideal partner for the global roll out of Ba Ba Boom.”
