Sony Pictures Television’s 2waytraffic announces that it is launching three successful finished programmes at MIPCOM including Shark Tank, known as Dragons’ Den outside of the US, Young Dumb & Living Off Mum from Monkey Kingdom, known as Your Kid’s An Idiot internationally and Trust Me, I’m a Dealer, a Gogglebox Entertainment format.

Shark Tank launched on ABC in the US on 8 August and has become a summer ratings hit. Based on its first four weeks, Shark Tank is the highest viewed new network summer reality series, averaging 5 million total viewers, up +25% from the new summer network reality total viewing average of 4 million and up +14% from ABC's average of 4.4 million. Outside of the US, the format, called Dragons’ Den, has been licensed to over 20 countries including airing on BBC2 for a seventh season. Dragons’ Den ranks among the top performing shows on BBC2 this year-to-date for Individuals 4+ and Adults 16-34.
Young, Dumb & Living Off Mum premiered on BBC3 on 19 July and has proven to be a ratings winner as the number one show of the day for its launch episode. The show takes a bunch of spoilt teenagers and places them in a house together to survive without their mums’ mollycoddling. Over a series of challenges and important life questions, the teenagers are judged by their watchful parents from outside the house who decide each week which teenager is less likely to change their wayward ways and therefore who should leave the house. To date, this show, which has averaged over half a million* viewers for the series and has been the most successful launch of a factual series on BBC3 this year.
Trust Me, I’m A Dealer, fronted by the well known TV antiques expert on the BBC, Paul Martin, launched on BBC2 on 24 August as a stripped daily, half hour show. For episodes 1 to 6, Trust Me, I'm A Dealer pulled in average audiences of 1.4 million, outperforming the channel's daypart average viewership by +56%. This intriguing show taps into viewers’ appetite for financial know-how and advice as it becomes more and more difficult to make a good return from regular forms of savings and investments.
