2waytraffic launches new reality formats at Mipcom
2waytraffic International is bringing two brand new reality formats to Mipcom this October, F.A.B.S.:Search For A Video Model, which has already been commissioned by Veronica, SBS Broadcasting’s youth channel in the Netherlands, and 6 Handshakes Away. The formats are the first of the reality genre to feature in the 2waytraffic catalogue.
F.A.B.S.:Search For A Video Model is a new reality talent format in which ten girls battle it out for a cash prize, a new car, and most importantly the chance to star in a music video from one of the world’s biggest recording artists. The girls live together in a luxurious apartment and tackle daily assignments to put their face, attitude, body and sex appeal to the test.
2waytraffic has signed a global deal with Warner Music to deliver the recording artist whose video the winning girl will feature in, as well as a host of other music stars who will contribute to the show.
A weekly 10 x 50’ series of F.A.B.S.: Search For A Video Model will launch on Veronica in the Netherlands on 4th October. The show is a highlight of Veronica’s autumn season and the channel is running an extensive on and off-air marketing campaign, including over 400 billboards and posters, and radio adverts.
Ed Louwerse, Managing Director of 2waytraffic International, said:
“F.A.B.S.: Search For A Video Model is a fantastic addition to the 2waytraffic catalogue. Thanks to the deal with Warner Music we can deliver our broadcast partners the complete package – a great format with a track record as well as guaranteed first-rate recording talent to appear in it.”
Martin Jessurun, President of Warner Music Benelux, said:
“We are very pleased to be a partner in this fantastic initiative of 2waytraffic. It is an excellent step in our strategy of becoming a full fledged music-based content company.”
2waytraffic’s second new offering is 6 Handshakes Away, an innovative weekly reality format based on the popular theory that we are all only ever six degrees of separation away from anyone in the world. Four complete strangers are split into two teams before embarking on a race against time to track down some of the biggest stars on earth in just five days.
To get to the celebrity the teams must use a social network beginning only with people they already know. Which ever team gets to the star in the fewest handshakes wins a 50,000 euros prize. The format creates gripping reality drama as the quest unfolds, personalities clash, and the newly-formed relationships are put to the test.
Ed Louwerse, commented:
“6 Handshakes Away brings the well-known theory of six degrees of separation to life. It’s something we all know and understand to be true, and this format puts it to the test in real circumstances, with real people, to create great reality action.”
