2waytraffic has completed new deals for TXTC, its interactive game show format targeted at teenagers and under-25s, with Greece’s Mega Channel and TV Channel Russia
The studio-based format, which was recently acquired by 2waytraffic, features two larger-than-life-sized mobile phones built into the studio floor which contestants use to text their answers.
Russian state-owned broadcaster TV Channel Russia will produce a minimum of 26 weekly episodes with transmission due to start March 2008, whilst Mega Channel’s weekly series, known as Sumusu, launched earlier this month and has won an incredible 50% of the 15-24 target demographic.
TXTC is a young and vibrant show in which two teams test their texting skills, knowledge of pop culture and celebrity gossip over six high-paced rounds. The two 4-member teams compete against each other in the fast-moving rounds by typing their answers into the giant mobile phones using their feet. As they progress through the rounds, players accumulate ‘talktime’ to be used in the final round where one team plays for a great prize.
Ed Louwerse, Managing Director of 2waytraffic International, commented: “TXTC is a great format of immense appeal to younger audiences. The fantastic results we’ve seen in Greece, where it won a 50% share of its target demographic, prove it really is the game show for the SMS generation.”
TXTC was created by Tony Dortie for Triple T Entertainment, which specialises in creating innovative television shows and events for young people. The format already has a strong track record in Asia, having aired on SCTV in Thailand and Indonesia and HTV in Vietnam.
