2waytraffic is bolstering its slate for MipTV in Cannes next week with four new formats, including the ultimate quiz for Royalty watchers and a unique questionless game show, as well as a new and star-studded version of its classic format Mr & Mrs.
Currently airing in the Netherlands on EO, The Greatest Royalty Expert tests the knowledge of members of the public against renowned Royalty watchers to find the nations’ most Royalty-savvy citizen. Contestants compete in six weekly shows with the eventual winner of each going on to play in the grand finale. Over the course of seven weeks, viewers can test their own knowledge of the monarchy, as well as root for their favourite contestants, as they vie to be named their nations' greatest Royalty expert. The Greatest Royalty Expert was created by Skyhigh TV productions and 2waytraffic’s Intellygents.
Developed in-house by 2waytraffic, Ba Ba Boomis a simple and addictive new game show which uses no questions and no software, just 10 models and 20 hands. The models stand behind the Ba Ba Boom table with their hands placed flat on its surface. Under 17 of their hands, there’s nothing, but under three, there’s a coin. The girls bang their hands three times - twice making fists and the third time flat - on the table in unison. Both the contestants and the viewers at home are able to hear the clinking sound of the coins on the table surface, and to win the 100,000 euros prize money, the contestants must simply eliminate all the hands that do not contain a coin. Reveal a hand that has a coin and the contestant is eliminated. Ba Ba Boom can be played using specific groups to suit the broadcaster’s profile, such as sports teams or firemen.
What’s Your Limit? is a new, big-money game show, featuring a bank card worth one million euros hidden amongst fifteen empty cards. By answering general knowledge questions, contestants eliminate the worthless cards and try to identify the winning one. Get a question right, and there’s one less empty card to worry about, but get a question wrong, and they are out of the game. The contestants constantly face a dilemma as they weigh up the odds between trying to answer a question to eliminate another empty card, and taking a punt at the location of the winning card to scoop the million euros prize. What's Your Limit? was created by 2waytraffic and Danish production company, STV.
Mr & Mrs is the cult game show which tests just how much - or how little - couples know about each other. Spring 2008 sees the revival of this classic format in a brand new series for ITV1, All Star Mr & Mrs, and 2waytraffic is delighted to present the format and finished series to the international market.
Maintaining all the elements that made the original show so popular, including the famous sound-proof booth, at the same time as bringing it bang up to date for 2008, All Star Mr & Mrs has the added appeal of promising viewers a unique, surprising and often hilarious insight into the relationships and home life of some of their favourite celebrities. All Star Mr & Mrs is made for ITV1 by Celador Productions.
Ed Louwerse, Managing Director of 2waytraffic International, said:
