Hilversum, 9 October 2006 HIPTV and Telegraaf Tijdschriften Groep launch Clip’It
crossmedia approach for home made entertainment
HIPTV, the streaming content specialist acquired by 2waytraffic in March 2006, and Telegraaf Tijdschriften Groep (TTG) will this autumn launch an Clip’ It, an internet site based on entertainment for and by the public. Clip’It will enable personal creativity and will give people the platform to present and view home made entertainment at no cost.
Clip’It is wholly focused on entertainment content, produced and published by the public. Current themes for videos will be announced via www.clipit.tv with an invitation for people to produce video clips expressing their own creativity and interpretation on this theme. Themes may include [add detail of possible themes.
Via the website creative participants can easily upload their own movies (Clipping) and / or view the input of others. The public can then vote for their favourite contribution and decide on the final winner, who will win fame and prizes such as a meet & greet with an artist or tickets for an event focused around the original theme.
Emexus is a key supplier of mobile services to 2waytraffic and the acquisition represents a strengthening of that relationship. The two companies also have a complementary geographical footprint that will extend the Group’s network across Europe, Northern America and South East Asia. In addition, Emexus’ existing corporate clients will benefit from being part of a larger group as they will have access to 2waytraffic’s wider portfolio of interactive content, services and products. The Directors believe that the acquisition will be earnings enhancing in the first full year of acquisition.
With Clip’It HIPTV and TTG are able to benefit from the growing popularity of producing and publishing (mobile) pictures and movies on the internet. As well as the internet, big events, famous artists and the titles of TTG will provide the necessary media exposure, giving the whole concept a cross media character and increasing awareness of the site across a broad platform of audiences.
