2waytraffic International completes multiple new signings for You Are What You Eat including a deal with BBC America
2waytraffic International today announces multiple new deals for the completed UK series of You Are What You Eat, including deals with BBC America and BBC Lifestyle in Asia. BBC America has acquired the first three UK series of the hit international factual entertainment format created by Celador Productions, while BBC Lifestyle in Asia has acquired all four series.
The fourth series, titled You Are What You Eat: Gillian Moves In, which originally transmitted on Channel 4 earlier this year and extends the original 30 minute format to hour-long episodes, has also been sold to Globosat in Brazil; W Network in Canada; Showtime in the Middle East and North Africa; Viasat in Scandinavia; and BBC Food in South Africa.
This new raft of deals takes the total number of countries into which the You Are What You Eat format and/or completed UK series has been sold to over 40, with numerous channels including Austria’s ATV and Germany’s RTL creating local versions of the format, whilst Denmark’s TV3, Israel’s DBS, Canada’s W Network, and TVB Pearl Channel in Hong Kong have bought all three series of the original 30 minute finished UK version.
Ed Louwerse, Managing Director of 2waytraffic International, commented: “You Are What You Eat continues to go from strength to strength in terms of international presence and we’re delighted to have got the UK show on air in America and Asia on such strong platforms.”
